Kazakhstan is the largest economy in Central Asia with a vast oil reserves, deposits of metals and strong agricultural potential. Being the 9th largest country in the world, resource-rich Kazakhstan is a historical bridge between Europe and Asia.
Kazakhstan is one of the Swedish Government’s 26 prioritized countries for trade and business promotion.
West Sweden with approximately 1.9 million inhabitants have several strong higher education institutions based in the region. In order to stimulate innovation a number of science parks have been established in cooperation between public and private stakeholders. The region has a diversified business environment of which two important sectors are automotive manufacturing and trade. A number of national R&D, innovation systems/cluster programmed are implemented in the region.
The mission of the West Sweden Kazakhstan Industry Council is to promote and facilitate trade between Sweden and Kazakhstan.
